Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 17, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how AI Podcast Generator (“we”, “us”, “our”), operated by Smallest AI, collects, uses, and protects your information when you use podcast.smallest.ai(the “Service”).

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Email address — when you reach the email gate (after 10 free generations) or restore your account.
  • Content you submit — text, URLs, or files you provide for podcast generation. This is sent to AI services for processing.
  • Payment information — processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. We only receive a customer ID.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage data — number of podcasts generated, stored in a signed cookie and your browser’s IndexedDB.
  • Device identifier — a random UUID stored in IndexedDB to prevent abuse of the free tier. Not linked to your identity.
  • Analytics — Vercel Analytics and Mixpanel collect anonymized page views, performance metrics, and feature usage. No personal identifiers are sent.

2. YouTube Integration (Google OAuth)

If you choose to publish a podcast to YouTube, we request access to your YouTube account using Google’s OAuth authorization flow. This is entirely optional.

Scopes we request:

  • youtube.upload — to upload your generated podcast as a video to your YouTube channel.
  • youtube.readonly — to display your channel name and confirm the upload destination.

2.1 Limited Use of YouTube/Google Data

Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

  • We use your YouTube data only to upload the podcast you explicitly requested to publish.
  • We do not use your YouTube data for advertising.
  • We do not sell, transfer, or share your YouTube data with third parties.
  • We do not use your YouTube data to train any AI or machine learning models.
  • We do not read, analyze, or store the content of your existing YouTube videos.
  • OAuth tokens are stored in your browser’s session (not on our servers) and used only to perform the upload you requested.
  • You may revoke our access at any time via Google’s account permissions page.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To generate podcasts from the content you provide.
  • To enforce free-tier usage limits and process paid subscriptions.
  • To send you product updates if you opted in (you can unsubscribe anytime).
  • To upload your generated podcast to YouTube, only when you explicitly request it.
  • To improve the Service (aggregate, anonymized usage patterns only).

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the Service:

  • Smallest AI (Lightning TTS) — to generate audio from text.
  • OpenAI / Anthropic — to generate podcast scripts from your content (only used as fallback when our internal model is unavailable).
  • Stripe — for payment processing.
  • Vercel — for hosting and analytics.
  • Mixpanel — for product analytics.
  • Google APIs — only when you opt in to YouTube publishing (see Section 2).

Each service has its own privacy policy. We share with them only the minimum data required to deliver their service.

5. Data Storage and Security

  • Session data is stored in a signed JWT cookie in your browser, with HttpOnly and Secure flags.
  • Generated podcasts are stored in your browser’s IndexedDB. We do not store your podcasts on our servers.
  • Payment records and credit balance are stored in Stripe’s secure infrastructure.
  • Email addresses are stored as Stripe customer records.
  • We use HTTPS for all data in transit.

6. Your Rights

  • Access — request a copy of any data we hold about you.
  • Deletion — request deletion of your email and Stripe customer record.
  • Revoke YouTube access — at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
  • Opt out of analytics — use a tracker-blocking browser or extension.

To exercise these rights, contact us at support@smallest.ai.

7. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects when changes were made. Significant changes will be communicated via the Service.
